A material change in circumstances of one or both parties after a Final Judgment of Divorce may lead to a modification of the Final Judgment of Divorce. Areas to be modified are most commonly child support, alimony, and child custody.
A significant increase or decrease in one party’s income may lead to a modification of child support. A remarriage or cohabitation of a divorced spouse may lead to termination of alimony. We will meet with you and discuss your situation to determine if your particular facts would justify filing for a modification of your Final Judgment of Divorce.
Child Custody is another subject of modifications. The evidence must be strong in your favor before the Court will consider a modification of child custody. All modifications of child custody must be carefully thought out before any action is taken.
